Every person encounters so many people every day, but only a few of the acquaintances can influence them greatly and change their life. In the same way, only a limited number of people mean a lot for you, and often even the way they behave doesn’t influence your appreciation of these people. I want to describe one of the most important personalities in my life –my father.
Mariners have known about the ocean currents that always move along certain paths since a long time ago. Then, they used them as helpers for transportation of goods. In 1772, for instance, the Gulf Stream Current was mapped by Benjamin Frankilin, although people knew very little about its nature. Today, with significant level of scientific development, we can easily see and analyze them.
This is a character description of an acquaintance of mine whom I have chosen for this role because of certain peculiarities that may look interesting on paper.
The house I would like to actually live in, live for a long time and enjoy it should be something like this:
Located in countryside, on the edge of a small town, preferably as far from other houses as it is possible and reasonable; it must stand on a bank of a small river. It should be two-storied and built of red and white brick, with its front wall covered in deep-green ivy. Of course, it has to be surrounded with a small garden which, among other things, would have a trellis for grapevines.
The most imposing building in our district is, no doubt, our local Catholic church. Not for the reason of being of enormous size and height, but because among the other, generally rather commonplace houses in its vicinity it is the only building that brings some originality into the landscape. When you say “Catholic church”, you, probably, immediately have a certain picture in your mind – a Gothic building with soaring spires, arrow-headed arches and stained-glass windows. In this particular case, however, you will be mistaken – this very church is as far from this typical image as it is possible.
