When the exams come, many students are not going through their best time. Everyone who postponed their studies for the mythical “tomorrow” for six months is now forced to give their best.

Such intense demands are exhausting, so it’s time to find out how you can (legally and naturally!) relax and restore your mental health points.

Sleeping.
Sleepless nights during normal times can be full of fun. Having to stay awake at night during a session is just frustrating though. Plus, it negatively affects productivity
and cognitive abilities. Therefore, at any opportunity, we recommend going to bed. After taking a nap even for fifteen minutes you will feel cheered up and get a surge of energy.

Visualizing.
It’s easy, efficient, and just plain fun. Just turn on your imagination and give it the right direction.
You can imagine something pleasant to relieve stress or you can occupy it with something more practical
such as rehearsing your future presentation.

Breathing.
Perhaps the fastest way to cool down, calm down, and clear your mind is through breathing exercises. It is not at all necessary to learn something special. Simply, when feeling too much pressure, try to breathe deeply and slowly.

Listening to music.
This is not even up to discussion: music can have a beneficial effect on our mental state. It is good for relaxing and falling asleep, for cheering up and recharging your batteries for the whole day. Plus, there are now entire genres created specifically to be listened while studying!

Got stuck with another paper? We can help!

                        15% OFF

                            <use xlink:href="/new-design/img/sprite.svg#cta-item-2"></use>

                            <use xlink:href="/new-design/img/sprite.svg#cta-item-2"></use>

Maintaining order.
Mess is actually very annoying (unless, of course, you are an incredibly creative person) and decreases productivity. Before you sit down to cram, clear your table, remove everything that you will not need
in the near future. So, you get rid of everything that can distract you and save yourself a lot of mental energy that you otherwise spend on fighting distraction.

Thinking positively.
Did you know that optimists a priori get more favorable opportunities because they are simply tuned in to notice them! The habit of thinking in a positive way has a beneficial effect on health, relationships with other people, and can even lead to success.

Outsourcing.
Sometimes the homework is simply too much. No matter how hard you work, it is just too much for one person to do. Good news is that you can always turn to somebody to help! We are here to assist and we have enough capacity to help even with the most challenging projects in the shortest time possible.

Who told you that the best ways to have fun with friends in summer require a lot of money? Sometimes, it takes not much more than a gumption and a creative way of thinking. So, come on, let’s think outside the box and find out how to have as much fun as we can and as cheap as possible, or maybe even absolutely free of charge.

Today we will follow the steps and have fun the way different characters did from the movies you must have seen. Or must see, if you haven’t.

So, let’s go summer right away together!

1. Dream like ”The Dreamers”

These three young guys are a brilliant example of how to be young, extraordinary and make the most out of life. It takes not much to unwind (or amuse yourself) the way they did. Living in the 60s, they are obsessed with the movies of that epoch. They know almost all the existing movies by heart, so when the right occasion comes along they behave like the characters and ask each other to guess the film, the year it was released, along with the name of a producer to make the task more challenging.

Fond of movies? Then this kind of amusement is right for you.

You can use different handy stuff to transform into any character, but your initial purpose is to behave the way he or she does (without actually saying a word, only behavior is crucial). It can be very spontaneous, so that your friends can guess that you are actually picturing somebody only after some time. You can do it everywhere (almost!), not only at home, but also in public places — on the beach or in transport. People around may have no idea, that you are playing a game. But better choose the movies you have watched together, or those who can be familiar to all the participants.

”The Dreamers” actually did one astonishing thing just like the characters of one old film and cracked their record — ran through the Louvre 16 seconds earlier than their inspirations. Challenging, yeah? Extremely tempting? No doubts! Are you in Paris, France? No? Then it’s for the better!

2. Do it like the Great Gatsby, do it even greater!

Can you imagine a better opportunity to have a jam with your friends, than in summer? Summer parties (preferably on the beach) with a lot of dancing to loud music, contests, new acquaintances… Something lacks? Of course – a mascaraed! Costumes and different images, what can make the party more interesting? Buy something new? There’s no need to. Clean out your closet and you are sure to find something to wear as your evening dress or costume and have a great time. Have even greater time than the characters in the Great Gatsby, because it’s not about your guise at all. People that you spend your time with are of greater importance. It may be even a pajamas party, either way it will be funny, interesting and extraordinary.

Got stuck with another paper? We can help!

                        15% OFF

3. Overjoy others with ‘d’Amélie’ miracles

Confess, you did want to do something of Ameli’s stuff, while watching ‘Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain’. Definitely, you did! Don’t even try to deny it. What if you try to make the similar things in your real life and play a fairy godmother just like she did in this fictional story? A well-known consistent pattern says ‘as you sow, so shall you reap’. Good deeds will always find a way to come back to you in return from somebody else. So it’s not only a kind of amusement in your summer day, but creating good karma, in case you believe in it, of course.

To follow Ameli’s example you can print or write down different joyful notes, affirmations or predictions on the little papers and share them with people in a way you’d like. But keep within the limits of a game – do everything invisibly. You can slip it under the door like an envelope with the utter ‘Soon, you will have some miracles in your life. Your Angel’, or something. Just imagine how people will cheer up, reading this. 99% that you personally wanted to get similar unexpected message from somebody else. Or even 100%?

4. Find your inspiration for modern art with the ”Intouchables”

When was the last time you did something interesting, that you’ve never done before? Remember how Driss started painting in the ”Intouchables”, though he had never held a brush in his arms? It doesn’t matter that you weren’t born Salvador Dali, you have a right to try painting and do it in your own way — how you see it and feel it.

Invite your friends and do your masterpieces together. You can, for instance, paint each other’s portraits. Probably, there is somebody among your friends who has paints, paint brushes and paper for sure. If not, it won’t cost too much to buy all this stuff for several people. To reduce your expenditures you can exclude brushes and paint with the help of your fingers only, namely finger tips. It will be even funnier. Moreover, after your ‘chefd’oeuvres’ are ready you can sign them and gift each other as keepsakes. You will have all in one — enjoyable activity, amusement and presents.

5. Turn your childish page back with ‘The Notebook’

Though you can be still in your teens, it means that you could have forgotten how easy and happy-go-lucky it is to be a child by doing some funny things. Grab an idea from ‘The Notebook’, where Allie dives into the water with a rope swing. Have you done it earlier in your childhood? Even if you didn’t, there’s a great opportunity to try. Take your friends to the river or a lake. Find a tree on the slope of it, tie up a rope (possibly with a bough or any other similar and usable thing) and accelerate ahead. Woohoo! Good job! Do you feel happy? Go ahead, one more time!

Are you ready to turn your fun on at full speed this summer?

Go along with these ideas, or share with us your brilliant and cheap ways we can try this summer.

There is a lot of history to Halloween, but we are not going to go into that. You do not need to know where, how, and when Halloween originated to get the most of it.

.A Masquerade For All

Halloween is in many ways a fashion show, and you are supposed to show that you are creative, fun, and outgoing. For that, you will need to pick a costume that appeals both to you and your friends. Being a bloody nurse or some other real old and boring costume idea is not going to get you any points. Instead, you should go for something that will make you stand out and highlight your individuality.

If you are from a country that doesn’t celebrate Halloween or has its own interpretation of it, that makes you celebrating Halloween the right way absolutely compulsory.

Locals will tell you that Halloween is one of those days that just ought to be celebrated, and once you are in their country, it wouldn’t hurt if you tried to adapt to their culture for the time being.

Halloween can be seen as a tool for deepening your relationships with friends. It does make a lot of sense that people in costumes pretending to be someone they really aren’t, are more likely to find new perspectives on who they and their friends really are.

Halloween is a great night for making a change in how you relate to others and what your typical day consists of. If you do want to make a change, you will just try to act as weird as possible so that the next few days your friends are not surprised that you are not acting the same way you had been acting before. You will just act in a third way that in light of the Halloween night will not look like too much of a change.

Who you are for Halloween is who you are in real life, though be careful, and never let that distract your choice of a costume. It should come from the heart and be fun to people around you, and not just yourself.

Choosing a costume should be rational. Do take into consideration what others think you should be. In fact, your peers might have a better view of who you are and who you look or act like.

Got stuck with another paper? We can help!

                            <use xlink:href="/new-design/img/sprite.svg#cta-item-2"></use>

                            <use xlink:href="/new-design/img/sprite.svg#cta-item-2"></use>

Your Typical Halloween Night

It typically starts with a dinner party or heavy amounts of drinking, depending on whether you drink or not. Having drink is not essential though. What Halloween comes down to is a fashion show, and not always the one with the prettiest costume wins. Creativity is also taken into consideration and a costume that’s just a carton face of some celebrity may be good enough if you play your role well.

Since it is Halloween and you got a really nice costume on, the biggest advice you could be given is that you should try to hit (i.e. visit) as many houses, pubs, and parties as possible.

Be active, as your main objective for the night is to showcase your costumes and see others’! The more people you seen on Halloween night, the more people you will be able to talk to the next day.

Not Just A Party

The primary benefit of Halloween is irresponsible behaviour and new friends. At least that’s what Western Europe and the United States are all about on the last day of October.

You can see people dressing up all throughout the week in some locations. It might not be a good idea to go that far, but finding as many new friends that either like your costume or have one that relates to it is absolutely crucial. You will then see these people on the streets, in school, and so forth. You will have something to talk about, and thus make friends.

Picking Your Costume

The stranger your costume is, the better. It does not matter what you normally wear and how you behave around friends. The bigger the contrast between your costume and your daily life – the better. Forget those who say that who you are on Halloween is who you are in real life. Your objective is to showcase your creativity and have fun.

Your costume needs to be fun. Consider what others like, as it’s a very important part of what you should be. If you are a fan of Star Wars, and everyone else around you is passive about it, it would be a very bad idea to be some obscure alien from the series or even a Luke Skywalker for that matter. Even though the idea might be cool, but the costume is not fun to others around you. It doesn’t ring a bell, as people have very few associations going with these types of characters.

We mean just look at those numbers!

There are numerous reasons for why many-many prospective students prefer the States to United Kingdom, Canada or Australia. Some of these reasons are: solid job prospects, flexible immigration rules, how friendly people are, how many internationals are already in the country or the state you are planning to go to, and of course how much money it costs to study.

The Rational Choice

Those who study in the United States call it the rational choice because of the infrastructure, liberal attitudes towards foreigners and the ease of transiting into your professional career.

Truly so, the number one reason for why students prefer the States to other countries is immigration rules, which seem strict, but nonetheless are quite flexible. Probably the smartest thing you could do is getting yourself a lawyer if your immigration status after graduation is not what you expected it to be. Even though laws are somewhat strict, there are plenty of cases when international students have either gotten green cards or work permit extensions beyond the 1-year baseline.

Work Permits For All

United States is the most popular destination for first year international students for a reason. Unlike United Kingdom and Australia, you are allowed to have a work permit after you complete your studies. The so-called Optional Practical Training permit lets you work for a year every time complete a full-time degree (cannot be online).

What that comes down to is that you can have as much as two years of legitimate work experience in the country if you are there to complete both your Bachelor’s and Master’s. You get your first year of work experience after Bachelor’s, and the second – after Master’s.

The beauty of this practical training thing is that you do not need to have a job to get it. United Kingdom for instance, has recently (Spring of 2012) changed its immigration rules, so that now you do need an offer letter in order to be eligible for a post-study permit.

In the U.S., it is way easier. The only thing that’s required of you is that you know your approximate location in the country and that you fill out an I-765 form. The form requires the international office at where you study to give you a recommendation, so you have to be in tight contact with them to have them help you fill out the form.

The Cost

United States is the costliest option, but that is for a reason, and depending on where your money is coming from, US might be either a great option or the one you should never choose.

Statistics say that the predominant majority of international students in the U.S. are funded either through personal or their families’ finances. This makes the decision of where to study even more important. Depending on where you see yourself after graduation, you either go with an urban or a rural campus. What also matters is how many years of work experience you have, how sociable you are, and how good of a university you are planning to go to.

Still The Right Choice For Most

Yes, American education is costly, but there are many things included in the cost. Things like administrative fees, memberships in various on-campus clubs, gyms, access to facilities, etc. You do not have to pay for anything apart from tuition, housing and meals. U.K. tuition fees don’t have that, and you will have to pay for each and every membership or activity you are willing to partake in. in this sense, American education is somewhat more comprehensive and cost effective in that it urges you to be as active as possible. It makes you want to be everywhere and do everything. That’s the beauty of it, many people argue!

The Field You Are In

The national Center for Education Statistics reports that there were 166,733 international students majoring in business and management studies in the year 2011/2012. The report also says that there were 141,285 engineering students, while the closest runner up to the two is maths and computer science, where enrolment was only at 71,364.

People mostly go the US for either engineering, computer science or social sciences like business, economics, international relations and so on. Whether you choose United States or some other country also big on international students depends on which academic major you are trying to study.

A few other no-less important things that you have to consider are the location and the rankings of the university you are planning to attend. If you are going to find yourself in a rural destination and a university that’s big but does not have high ranking, you cannot expect your career prospect to be high. Don’t forget that getting a car is almost required if you are studying in a rural destination. Be careful and weigh your options before any commitments, as once you make one, it will stay with you forever.

You would have to do that until midnight, Friday, the 13th of September.

Some History

Friday the 13th is mostly a western thing, and most people celebrating it reside either in Western Europe or North America. Still, the eastern part of the world has adopted it to a great extent. Because the day is commercialized, it is now popular in China, India, Southeast Asia and even Africa.

It all started with a Hollywood movie “Friday the 13th” that this day became a yet another worldwide excuse to either celebrate or talk about mysticism. People love everything mystical, and Friday the 13th is similar to Halloween in that it attracts a lot of attention. Not as much of course, but still a fair amount.

Friday the 13 Around The World

The day became so popular in certain cultures that it started being brought to the ones, where it wouldn’t naturally have too big of an impact. For instance, Spanish-speaking countries often refer to the day as Tuesday the 13th, and even the horror movie that it all started with came to be known in Latin America as Tuesday the 13th.

Many cultures have traditionally thought of number “13” as unlucky. For instance, ancient Egyptians believed that afterlife was related to the 13th stage of life. After the Egyptian civilization went into decline, the number remained to be associated with fear and death.

There is also quite some Norse mythology surrounding the day. As the legend goes, there once were 12 gods at a banquet, when Loki, the uninvited god of mischief showed up, bringing the number of guests to 13. He became responsible for what was the death of one of the other gods – Balder. That’s how the number became associated with grief in Norwegian culture.

Some also say that the number came to be known as unlucky because of the Bible. The apostle to betray Jesus for instance, Judas Iscariot, was the 13th guest to be present at the Last Supper. That’s not all either, as according to the Bible, the confusion with languages, the day Adam was tempted with an apple, the day of the great flood, and the day Jesus died were all happening on the 13th.

Interesting Facts

In Norway, there is a word for fearing Friday the 13th. It is friggatriskaidekaphobia, while frigg is a Norse goddess that the word “Friday” is derived from. The other part of the word literally translates as “fear of the 13.” It is believed to be a legitimate phobia, and some people having it are even afraid to pronounce the words. Others avoid using aircraft or even going to work on this particular Friday.

Truly so, millions of people are afraid of Friday the 13th, as according to North Carolina Phobia Institute and Stress Management Center in Asheville. Symptoms range from mild anxiety to serious panic attacks in some individuals.
