Time management is the process or act of exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent for some specific actions and activities. It is aimed at achieving maximum productivity and increase the efficiency of actions. It is aided by certain tools, skills and techniques, owing to which it becomes possible to manage time with optimal efficiency when performing some daily tasks. Among them there are delegation, planning, analysis of time spent, allocating, organizing, setting goals, scheduling, monitoring, and prioritizing. In this essay I will explain how I started to implement time management in my life and how it helped me achieve more.
First of all, I realized that the way I spend my time was absolutely wrong. I didn’t cope with essential tasks and caught myself on the thought that I was constantly complaining instead of doing something to change the situation. That was the moment when I started reading useful literature on time management. I understood that this was exactly what I needed, and even more.
At first it was hard for me to implement all the changes I planned, but luckily I had enough patience and will power to accomplish all my goals. One of the first things I had to learn how to do was planning my days, weeks and months. Since the time I decided to change my life, I began my day with writing a detailed plan for the day. Very soon I understood what areas were taking too much of my time and I saw what I had to work on to improve my daily routine.
